About Us

The Faculty of Psychology of Titu Maiorescu University was established in 1991, it has been accredited by Law no. 239/2002 and it is part of the National Education System, with all ensuing rights and obligations:
  • It provides a bachelor study programme for full time and distance learning students, length of study – 3 years and for graduates, it offers various master programmes with a length of study of 2 years.
  • It applies the European Credit Transfer System, ECTS.
  • It organizes a bachelor exam for the completion of the bachelor studies and a session for the defense of the dissertation for the completion of the master studies.

By its study programmes, the Faculty of Psychology of Titu Maiorescu University trains specialists for the following professions:

  • Teaching staff for pre-university education and for the psychology academic education.
  • Scientific researchers for the specialized institute of the Romanian Academy.
  • Psychologists qualified to work in public or private companies, in the following fields: psychotherapy and clinical psychology, marital and couple counseling, techniques of psychological and psychosocial evaluation, human resources psychology and personnel policies, advertisement and publicity psychology, image counselor, educational and vocational counseling.


The graduates can take advantage of multiple employment opportunities, such as:

  • High schools, universities and continuous education centers for the personnel working in various fields of activity
  • Psycho-pedagogical and vocational counseling rooms
  • Psychological support centers organized in orphanages, foster care centers, special schools and retirement homes
  • Personnel testing and selection companies
  • Psychology labs and consulting rooms organized by state or private companies, hospitals, private or state medical clinics, schools, high schools and faculties
  • Advertising companies
  • Public opinion survey institutes

Through the ERASMUS Programme, the Faculty of Psychology provides traineeship programmes for students at Paris XIII and Paris VII University in the PSYCHOANALYSIS field and at the University of Laguna – Tenerife, Spain, in the field of SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY. Through the teaching staff mobility programmes as part of the ERASMUS Programme, prestigious professors and researchers from Paris VII, Paris XIII, and Laguna-Tenerife Universities deliver lectures and conferences at the Faculty of Psychology. 

The Faculty of Psychology collaborates with other prestigious universities in USA (University of Florida, Charleston Southern University) and Australia (West Australia University – Perth, the University of Melbourne).
