About Us

History and Tradition

The Faculty of Banking and Finance, Accountancy and Business Administration is an academic institution with a long tradition in the Romanian private higher academic education in the economic field. The first faculty in the field in the Romanian private education was established in the fall of 1990 – The Faculty of Economic Sciences. In recognition of its quality and professionalism in student training, The Faculty of Economic Science was accredited by Law no. 239 of 23.04.2002 (when the first accreditations were made in the Romanian private higher academic education), the faculty being granted full rights in the national education system, which entailed:

  • the organization of bachelor and dissertation exams within the faculty;
  • the issuing of bachelor and master diplomas;
  • the organization of postgraduate courses.

Functioning in a continuous dynamic environment and being highly adaptable to the requirements on the labor market, in 2014 The Faculty of Economic Sciences changed its name to The Faculty of Banking and Finance, Accountancy and Business Administration. 

 

Mission

The mission of The Faculty of Banking and Finance, Accountancy and Business Administration is to instruct specialists in economics with a solid professional training, able to integrate very quickly and to respond to the requirements of their future jobs on the internal and international market, to develop the students’ creativity and competitiveness, according to the knowledge-based society. 

 

Education and Performance

The Faculty of Banking and Finance, Accountancy and Business Administration trains students according to the Bologna structure, including two education cycles: a first basic cycle of 3 years, followed by a second, master cycle of 2 years.

In the first cycle, there are two forms of education:

  • full time - in Bucharest
  • distance learning - in Bucharest

 

Perspectives

Our graduates have multiple employment opportunities on the labor market:

  • at banks or other financial institutions;
  • at various insurance companies;
  • in any Romanian or foreign organization, at the financial and accounting departments, the sales or procurement departments;
  • at financial, accounting and tax consultancy companies;
  • they can open their own business.

 

Study Programme

Currently, in the first cycle, the Faculty trains specialists in the following fields:

  • Finance – study programme Banking and Finance
  • Accountancy – study programme Accountancy and Financial Administration Software
  • Business Administration – study programme Business Administration

In the second cycle, the Faculty organizes a number of 4 master courses:

  • Taxation and Financial Policies - organized together with the Romanian Chamber of Tax Consultants
  • Company Financial Policies
  • The Management of European Project Financing
  • Banking and Financial Markets

 

International Opening

The Faculty of Banking and Finance, Accountancy and Business Administration applies The European Credit Transfer System – ECTS. This system allows students to study for one or two semesters at another university in an European Union Member State and not only, the exams passed there being validated upon returning to the country. Also, we have concluded a number of partnerships with prestigious foreign universities, thus creating a permanent exchange of students. Out of these, mention can be made of the following:

Together with our partner companies, we organize workshops and optional courses so that our students should acquire knowledge, competences and skills that would make them competitive on the labor market.

 

Quality in Education

In 2013, as part of The Faculty of Banking and Finance, Accountancy and Business Administration the Excellence Center for Increased Quality in the Economic Higher Education was established, with the support of which, our faculty is aimed at fulfilling the following objectives:

  • Vocational guidance and development of new competences for the easy integration of pupils and students on the labor market;
  • Motivation of the students and potential students for the development of theoretical and practical knowledge in the economic field by granting private scholarships and providing internships at partner companies;
  • Informing students about the educational offer and about the related projects developed by the center;
  • Continuous adjustment of the study programmes to the demands of the labor market;
  • Organization of thematic workshops for pupils and students in view of acquiring the necessary knowledge, competences and skills that would allow them the possibility to meet the employers’ demands.
