Student life in Bucharest

Since Bucharest is the most important and the most complex academic centre in Romania, the student life here is well represented both socially and culturally. There are special clubs with special discounts for students all over the city, as well as theatres, cinema halls, sport centres, discos, bars etc.

The most important student event of the year is UNIFEST, The Students' Festival. UNIFEST takes place every Autumn (in October or November) and it is a one-week festival during which all the students in Bucharest have free access to certain theatre, opera, ballet and cinema performances, as well as student parties, concerts and exhibitions.

A free weekly guide named Seven Evenings (Sapte Seri, in Romanian) is available in all public places. It will tell you all you need to know about cinema, theatres, nightclubs, restaurants, pubs, sport rooms, art events, concerts and many others.
