Presentation and Editorial Policy

The first issue of the Titu Maiorescu University Law Review was published in 2002. It was designed to showcase the scientific accomplishments of the Faculty of Law’s teaching staff, as well as those of its collaborators.

The intention was to contribute to and increase the impressive collective achievements of our teaching staff.

Starting with the 2007 issue, the Titu Maiorescu University Law Review appears in a new series. On this occasion, teachers and academics from prestigious higher education institutions in Romania and abroad were drawn into the editorial team. To ensure greater international scientific visibility, starting with issue VIII, the Review has included articles in international languages, predominantly English.

The publication is edited by Titu Maiorescu University, Bucharest, one of the most important private universities in Romania, as well as by Hamangiu Publishing House, which specializes in legal publications.

The editorial policy focuses on publishing quality articles written by professionals, teaching specialists in legal issues, and PhD students from doctrinal, jurisprudential, and fundamental legal areas such as civil law, civil procedure, criminal law, criminal procedure, administrative law, labour law, public and private international law, and human rights law.

Titu Maiorescu Law Review is open to collaborating with colleagues from outside Romania. Thus, a significant number of articles signed by authors from countries such as France, Spain and the Republic of Moldova have been published in the magazine.

Currently, the review is included in two international databases: HeinOnline and the Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL).

Titu Maiorescu University Law Review adheres to the BOAI definition of open access: users have the right to ‘read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or refer to the integral texts of these articles’.

At the same time, the Titu Maiorescu University Law Review applies the Creative Commons “Attribution-NoDerivs CC BY-ND” licence to all published materials. This licence allows for the redistribution of the materials in their entirety and without changes, for commercial and non-commercial purposes, provided that the Titu Maiorescu University Law Review is cited as the source of initial publication.

The editorial board of the Titu Maiorescu University Law Review believes that a legislative system can only achieve its economic and social objectives if the legal rules are made known and subject to critical analysis with the aim of improving them. Our publication aims to contribute to this process.
