”Dear Students, Esteemed Colleagues, Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is both an honour and a joy for me, as the newly appointed Vice-Rector for International Relations of Titu Maiorescu University, to welcome you today at the opening of the new academic year. This ceremony is not only the beginning of a new cycle of studies, but also the start of a shared journey, built on knowledge, responsibility, and belonging.

First, let me extend my warmest congratulations to all of you – for having chosen a demanding yet noble path: to dedicate your studies and your future careers to health, care, and service to others. Medicine and dentistry are more than professions; they are vocations that require discipline, empathy, and resilience.

Our University has a proud tradition of international openness, and your presence here proves once more that Titu Maiorescu University has become a true academic home for students from all around the world. You are now part of a community that values excellence, diversity, and respect.

For those of you who begin your studies at the Faculty of Medicine in English, I encourage you to embrace the rigor of medical science while developing the compassion that every patient deserves; you will find here the guidance of professors and clinicians ready to shape you into doctors of both knowledge and humanity.

For those joining the Faculty of Dental Medicine in English, you are about to enter a profession where science and art meet in the service of human health and dignity; you will learn not only precision and technique, but also the responsibility of restoring confidence and wellbeing to those you treat.

To the students enrolled in the Preparatory Year for the Romanian Language, this is the first step in your integration into our academic and cultural environment; learning our language will allow you to fully participate in your studies, to connect with your peers, and to understand the traditions and values of the country that will become your second home.

To our Erasmus+ incoming students, I warmly welcome you into our academic family; may your months here in Bucharest be filled with intellectual challenges, cultural discovery, and friendships that will cross borders and last a lifetime.

And to our academic staff, I wish to express my deepest gratitude: your role is not only to transmit knowledge, but also to inspire, to mentor, and to set high standards of professional and ethical conduct; the presence of so many international students is also a responsibility for us all, to teach, to support, and to guide with patience and fairness.

Dear students, as members of our University, you are expected to respect the rules that govern academic life – punctuality, integrity in examinations, commitment to continuous learning, and respect for diversity. At the same time, we encourage you to take initiative, to engage in research, to participate in student associations, to explore Bucharest and Romania, and to become ambassadors of dialogue and collaboration.

You may encounter difficulties – cultural, linguistic, or academic – but remember: you are not alone. The International Relations Office, your professors, and your colleagues are here to support you. Do not hesitate to ask for help, to seek guidance, and to build bridges of communication.

In conclusion, allow me to remind you that your years at Titu Maiorescu University will shape your knowledge, your skills, and also your character.

I wish you all a year filled with intellectual growth, personal discoveries, and meaningful connections. Welcome to our University – your University. Together, let us make this academic year one of excellence, respect, and shared success.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your academic and personal endeavours this year. ”

The 2025–2026 academic year marks the continuation of a path of performance and innovation, with new projects, international collaborations, and an ever-stronger, united Maiorescian community.

The joy of opening the new academic year would not have been complete without the artists who brought emotion and elegance to the celebration. Our thanks go to soprano Ilinca Manole and pianist Emanuela Ioniță, Trio Zamfirescu, violinist Mate Kozma, and Cornel Vieru (Very Sax)!

We wish you all the best and great success in the new academic year!
