RESEARCH STRATEGY AND PRIORITIES

 
The year 2008 marked a more visible and significant orientation of the scientific research activity of the teaching staff in the faculty and in each department, by frequent reporting to the reference points of the European higher education framework and area, to the requirements / standards of the fields in which the graduates of the faculty, In the conditions of sustainable competitiveness and exploitation of research results, of the knowledge-based economy. The research strategy of the faculty wanted to be a modern, effective and efficient one, developed both in the short term (yearly) and the medium (4 years) and long (2008-2016).
In elaborating the final form of the Research Strategy 2008-2012 of the Faculty of Psychology, the values and support points provided by the leadership of Titu Maiorescu University in Bucharest were respected. The following fields / faculties of study were crystallized:
  • The academic values ​​of Titu Maiorescu University in Bucharest, the mission, the vision and the strategic operational plan of the faculty;
  • The education and training reform directions, both formal and non-formal, with application to the areas where the graduates are employed, as also provided for in the National Development Strategies for the next period;
  • The priorities of European research areas in the social sciences and humanities as well as the main pillars of funding;
  • The experience of teaching staff in the faculty, which allows for the reconstruction of a modern and effective pedagogy of higher education, based on strategic management and quality, in the requirements of the future society based on knowledge and competitiveness;
  • The involvement of all teachers and students of the older years in master and mid-term research programs as well as future research networks (laboratories, mixed teams, centers of excellence) with significant impact on performance Academic and, at the same time, educational and social realities;
  • The professional research interests of the teaching staff have been linked both to the sphere of personal project development, to the specialization area, and to the modernization of the themes of newly introduced or rethought courses from the perspective of the Bologna process;
  • More and more visible research and research enrollment in the area of ​​international recognition;
  • Creating more relevant, more offensive and more persuasive journalistic remodeling of the faculty image and impact in the academic environment in the context of comparability with other similar institutions in the country;
  • The progressive, still less effective, transfer of research results from the theoretical area to the values ​​of the application, in particular towards increasing the real institutional capacity (eg the organization and functioning of centers of excellence, resource centers) to the operational area of ​​the research activity In interdisciplinary teams, to the establishment of institutional research networks in the field, at national and / or international level);
  • Investment in the professional development of young teachers from the perspective of refining research potential (research internships, scholarships for masters studies), widening the offer of cooperation on the market of research actors, developing human resource absorption capacity, generating, applying and Dissemination of psycho-pedagogical research results, etc.

 

PRIORITIES

The main evidence for the strategic reorientation of research is given by the particular increase in the share of programs / projects carried out in a national context based on competition, with particular relevance to the sustainable valorisation of research results and the reform of the fields related to the faculty profile (education, Higher education, integrated education, equal opportunities, child rights protection). Thus, in 2009, the teachers from the two departments intend to participate in competitions organized at national level and within the programs of the European Union, including in the framework of the CEEX Excellence Research Program.

THE SESSION OF SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATIONS
WITH INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION – May 2008

           
A special achievement of the Faculty of Psychology is the organization of the Scientific Communication Session with international participation held in May 2008. The session had a strong echo among the psychologists in Romania with the participation of 300 people.
The great number of themes and their diversity reflect the participants’ interest in the latest concepts, theories and methodologies of contemporary psychology. The organizers grouped the works into three sections:
1. Social psychology, organizational psychology and psychology of human resources;
2. Psychology of personality, educational psychology and psychodiagnosis;
3. Psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. The authors of the papers come from all levels of scientific life, from academics and university professors to masters and students. Thus, over 140 authors with 60 studies were selected.
We have proposed that this meeting should give psychologists from all theoretical and applied fields the chance to communicate and to know the latest concerns in the field both in Romania and in Europe. Our mission was that all the studies presented at this session should be of real use.
