Within Titu Maiorescu University of Bucharest, the Institution Organizing Doctoral University Studies (IOSUD – UTM) represents the academic environment dedicated to advanced research, intellectual reflection, and doctoral education of excellence.

Doctoral Studies

Doctoral studies represent the highest level of university education, offering the opportunity to conduct advanced research and contribute to the development of knowledge in a specific field under the supervision of a doctoral supervisor.

In Romania, doctoral university studies have a duration of four years, with the possibility of extending the studies under the conditions provided by the academic legislation in force.

The doctoral pathway includes:

  • a training program based on advanced university studies, carried out through courses, seminars, and specific academic activities;
  • an individual scientific research program conducted throughout the entire duration of doctoral studies;
  • the preparation of original research materialized in a doctoral thesis;
  • academic activity carried out under the guidance of the doctoral supervisor and the supervisory and academic integrity committee.
