About the Community
International Student Community @ UTM is an active student initiative within Titu Maiorescu University, dedicated to supporting and integrating international students.
The community is based on student involvement and provides support to colleagues from other countries, facilitating their adaptation to the academic, social, and cultural environment in Romania.
The initiative directly targets international students, as a vulnerable and potentially underrepresented group, who may face specific challenges such as language barriers, cultural differences, and social integration.

Dear students,
Life at a new university, in a new country and in a different cultural environment can come with many questions: about courses, colleagues, professors, documents, schedules, the city, the language, or adapting to everyday life in Romania.
Through the International Student Community @ UTM, we would like to remind you that you are not alone. This community was created to support the integration of international students, reduce cultural and language barriers, and build a university environment based on support, belonging and respect.
If you need help or if you would like to offer help, you can take the first step very simply:
- ask a colleague;
- contact the Department of International Relations;
- take part in integration activities;
- get involved in the community;
- suggest an idea, a meeting, an event or a cultural activity;
- become a volunteer and support other international students.
International Student Community @ UTM means more than information. It means connection, mutual support and the feeling that you are part of a community.

Mission
The mission of International Student Community @ UTM is to:
• support the integration of international students into the university environment;
• reduce cultural and language barriers;
• promote inclusion and diversity within the academic community;
• create an environment of support and belonging.
Core Activities
With the support of the International Relations Department, the Community supports activities such as:
• orientation sessions for international students, covering academic and administrative aspects;
• buddy programmes between local and international students;
• cultural and social integration events;
• informal support for adapting to life in Romania;
• meetings and workshops on cultural diversity.
Support Provided
The initiative contributes to supporting international students by:
• facilitating communication with colleagues and academic staff;
• providing information on university processes;
• supporting social and academic integration;
• creating a support network among students.
Impact
The activity of International Student Community @ UTM aims to:
• increase the level of integration of international students;
• reduce the risk of social isolation;
• improve the academic experience of students from other countries;
• promote an inclusive and multicultural university environment.
Target Group
The initiative is mainly addressed to:
• international students enrolled in UTM study programmes;
• students participating in mobility programmes;
• the entire academic community interested in cultural diversity.
The activities are dedicated to international students, as a group that may face specific integration challenges, and are therefore considered a relevant group in the context of inclusion and diversity.
Institutional Recognition
International Student Community @ UTM is recognised as:
• an active student initiative;
• an initiative supporting cultural diversity;
• a component of the university’s internationalisation and inclusion efforts.
Involvement
Interested students may participate by:
• getting involved in proposing and organising activities and events;
• volunteering in integration programmes;
• collaborating in the organisation of community initiatives.
