QUALITY ASSURANCE POLICY WITHIN THE DOCTORAL SCHOOL OF DENTAL MEDICINE

Quality assurance represents a fundamental component of the academic and research activities carried out within the Doctoral School of Dental Medicine. The quality policy aims to develop an institutional framework that guarantees excellence in scientific research, doctoral training, and compliance with academic and ethical standards specific to the medical field.

Through the implementation of a coherent quality management system, the Doctoral School of Dental Medicine seeks to continuously improve doctoral research activities, develop the advanced competencies of doctoral students, and increase the impact of scientific results in the field of dental medicine.

Quality Assurance Objectives

The main objectives of the quality assurance policy are:

  • developing a doctoral program centered on the doctoral student and on the development of advanced biomedical and clinical research competencies;
  • promoting academic excellence and integrity in scientific research in the field of dental medicine;
  • increasing the quality and relevance of research outcomes in dentistry;
  • developing academic and scientific cooperation at national and international levels;

Monitoring of the Doctoral Program

The doctoral university study program in the field of Dental Medicine is continuously monitored in order to ensure the quality of academic and research activities.

The monitoring of the doctoral program focuses on:

  • the continuous updating of doctoral research topics in accordance with scientific and technological developments in the field of dentistry;
  • the periodic evaluation of doctoral students’ activity;
  • the analysis of the scientific performance of doctoral supervisors;
  • monitoring research activities carried out within laboratories, university clinics, and research centers;
  • developing interdisciplinary and international collaborations in the field of biomedical research.

The periodic evaluation of the doctoral program contributes to the continuous improvement of the doctoral training process and to maintaining high academic standards.

Evaluation of Doctoral Students’ Activity

The activity of doctoral students is periodically evaluated throughout the doctoral program, in accordance with the regulations governing the organization and conduct of doctoral university studies.

The evaluation includes:

  • the analysis of annual progress reports;
  • the assessment of the experimental, clinical, or theoretical research activities carried out by doctoral students;
  • participation in scientific conferences and publication of research results in specialized journals;
  • presentation of intermediate research results within the academic activities of the doctoral school.

The completion of doctoral studies is achieved through the public defence of the doctoral thesis, in accordance with national legislation and institutional regulations.

Evaluation of Doctoral Supervisors

The quality of doctoral supervision activities is periodically monitored and evaluated within the institutional quality assurance system.

The evaluation of doctoral supervisors considers:

  • scientific performance and research activity in the field of dental medicine;
  • involvement in coordinating doctoral students’ activities;
  • research outcomes achieved within the doctoral program;
  • participation in research projects and national and international academic activities;
  • compliance with ethical standards and the principles of academic integrity in biomedical research.

The evaluation results contribute to the improvement of academic activities and to the development of the doctoral program.

Access to Research Resources

Doctoral students benefit from access to the academic and research resources necessary for carrying out scientific activities, including:

  • the university library and specialized publications in the field of dental medicine;
