In the context of Titu Maiorescu University’s (TMU) participation in the NAFSA 2026 Annual Conference & Expo, held in Orlando, Florida, USA, the TMU delegation held a working meeting with representatives of QS (QS Quacquarelli Symonds), an internationally recognised organisation in the field of university analytics, ratings and rankings.

The meeting took place at an important moment for Titu Maiorescu University, which is currently undergoing the QS Stars evaluation process. This process reflects the university leadership’s commitment to strengthening academic quality, increasing international visibility and aligning with relevant standards for higher education at global level.

The TMU delegation, composed of Prof. Daniel Cochior, PhD, Rector; Assoc. Prof. Eng. Iustin Priescu, PhD, President of the Senate; Assoc. Prof. Geanina Banu, PhD,  Vice-Rector for International Relations; Assoc. Prof. Cosmin Moldovan, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; and Assoc. Prof. Violeta Hancu, PhD, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, discussed with Leonardo de Oliveira Andrade, QS Director for Europe, aspects related to the importance and complexity of the evaluation process, the university’s internationalisation directions and the ways in which TMU can further strengthen its academic profile internationally.

The dialogue also focused on identifying concrete steps to enhance the visibility and impact of TMU’s institutional achievements in areas such as education, research, internationalisation, student support and engagement with the professional environment.

TMU’s participation in NAFSA 2026 and the meeting with QS representatives confirm the strategic orientation of Titu Maiorescu University towards international development, transparent institutional evaluation and the continuous improvement of the quality of academic services offered to its students.
